When the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo approached us about shooting a video that would be viewed by every Rodeo goer, we were honored, to say the least. Then when we found out we were going to get to shoot some of the most beautiful land in Texas, work with some great kids and ranchers, and dig through some fantastic historical photos, we were downright excited.
The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo's Wildlife and Natural Resources Committee was interested in developing a piece to educate today's youth on the abundant resources in the State of Texas. With so many of us living in the city, we don't always appreciate some of the most amazing things about our grand state...the beautiful scenery, rich soil, plentiful wildlife and the many things we, as Texans, may take for granted. After all, "...we still need places where we can hike, and fish, hunt and camp or just get away and take in the beauty of nature. So look around you. Take it all in. It is, in a sense, every Texan's true birthplace."
Roger Christian, president and creative director of RCCO, provided comprehensive oversight and concept development for the project. David Allen of DACD provided creative consultancy and on-site project management. Mike Bowie with Five Point Six managed production of the video, and Tom Strong of 1080, Inc. edited the piece. The result is a beautiful three-minute piece with sweeping landscapes, a moving script and flowing music. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
